I am a committed lifelong curmudgeon based in Vestal, NY (with former stints in Apalachin and other parts of the Binghamton area in Broome and Tioga counties). I am also a committed amateur photographer blemished by occasional publication and print sales. I've been doing it for over 25 years and almost entirely for selfish reasons: it's a fascinating challenge, a superbly expressive tool, and a great outlet for large amounts of discretionary cash.
Mark Twain wrote, "Truth is mighty and will prevail. There is nothing the matter with this, except that it ain't so." Photographs can reveal truths. Interesting photographs can fabricate, embellish, or manipulate truths.
I've started a blog at snapify.blogspot.com to provide mostly unique postings for intermediate and advanced photographers. We'll see how long that lasts. My strobist dabblings are in Flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/snapify which seems to be getting less and less of my attention as time goes by.
